Heart and Soul Shawl

HEART AND SOUL SHAWL

Heart and Soul… reminds me of my best friend. I’ve known her my whole life and I have been missing her a lot for this last pandemic year. Thankfully she visited me in February before pandemic was a thing, but I’m ready to get my shot and hopefully see her soon!

The backstory of this shawl was inspired by my childhood memories of sitting in her home at the piano while she played and we sang songs together, one of which was Heart and Soul.

This sweet picture (above in the photo) is one I found a few years ago and happens to be taken in my childhood kitchen. We obviously played dress up and then promptly needed a juice box of some sort.

So… Heart and Soul is an ode to my best friend. This shawl – it’s cozy like that familiar melody and it’s comforting as a close friend’s embrace. This is my memory of Heart and Soul. Heart and Soul is an enjoyable knit and it’s sure to bring you some warmth, joy and a touch of softness.

It is a crescent shaped shawl knit from the top down with some pretty eyelets and a just little bit of lace to break up its overall garter texture. Baby Suri Alpaca and a fingering weight yarn are held together throughout the entire knit.

I collaborated with Less Traveled Yarn and Woodsy and Wild to bring you a whole cozy package if you would like!

This shawl has brought me a lot of comfort during this time and I hope it will for you too. Perhaps you’ll remember your childhood best friend and the games you played. Or maybe it’s just a time when you got to spend with dear ones that you haven’t seen in a while. Whatever this shawl means to you, I hope it’s a little bit of love and joy.
