Gemstone Magic Sweater PDF Pattern

Gemstone Magic is inspired by vintage rings and necklaces. The lovely raw cuts of stones I found influenced the chart motif heavily. Before I had even finished creating the chart, I had paired this lovely Jam color yarn from Hudson and West with a pink and purple and gray Dreamstate skein from Spincycle that I knew would work wonderfully together – basically magic!

Gemstone Magic is a yoked colorwork sweater, worked from the top down. It is a bit swingy and a little cropped so that it can be worn with jeans, dresses and skirts, or however you choose to wear it.

The colorwork pattern is charted.

This yoked sweater is knit from the top down in the round. The sweater begins by working the neckband. Then short rows are worked to add height to the back neck. From there, you will begin working the colorwork chart. Once you have finished the yoke section, you will separate the sleeves and body. Front and back are joined at the underarms to knit in the round. The body is worked in the round, finished with a bottom hem trim rib. The sleeve stitches that are on hold are then worked in the round to the cuff.

Recommended ease: This sweater is designed with proportional ease, which means that the amount of positive ease is based on body measurements to achieve a consistent fit across sizes. It is intended to be worn oversized with 8-16 in / 20-40.5 cm of positive ease at the bust.

The model wears size 3 with 9.5 in / 24 cm of positive ease at the bust.
