Lucky Cardigan PDF Pattern

$8.00

When Jensen approached me a while ago to design a mosaic cardigan, I was instantly excited – I hadn’t designed any mosaic knits yet, and I wanted to challenge myself to create my first mosaic design.

Once I started working on drafting this cardigan, I knew I wanted to do a play on tiles I had recently seen at the Isabella Gardner Stewart Museum in Boston. While there, I saw some really gorgeous tiles and snapped a picture as inspo for a future design. I developed this design as an homage to those tiles.

Lucky Sweater is a raglan, mosaic cardigan, worked from the top down. It is designed to be oversized at the bust and with balloon sleeves so you can wear other garments with it. An optional belt can be made if you want to wear this cardigan closed.

The mosaic pattern is a form of slip-stitch colorwork. The mosaic patterns are charted.

Construction: This raglan cardigan is knit flat and worked top-down in one piece. The sleeves are picked up and knit in the round after the body of the cardigan is finished. The neckband of the cardigan is the last thing to be knit and it is worked by picking up stitches along the edges of the cardigan.

This is a special collaboration with Sugarplum Circus and Spincycle Yarns. Both were so kind in providing yarn support, and I hope you will consider using their yarns for your future projects as well!
