Heart and Soul is an ode to my best friend. This shawl… I dreamed it up one day from the memory of sitting at the piano at my best friend’s house (childhood to now!) while she played the piano and we sat together and sang and played around. This shawl – it’s cozy like that familiar melody. It’s comforting as a close friend’s embrace. This is my memory of Heart and Soul. Heart and Soul is an enjoyable knit and it’s sure to bring you some warmth, joy and a touch of softness.
Heart and Soul is a crescent shaped shawl knit from the top down with some pretty eyelets and just a little bit of lace to break up its overall garter texture. Baby Suri Alpaca and a fingering weight yarn are held together throughout the entire knit.
I collaborated with Less Traveled Yarn and Woodsy and Wild to bring you a whole cozy package if you would like (purchased separately)! Make sure to get your yarn kit and matching bag (or bags!) on their respective sites.
The shawl is worked flat from the top down, beginning with a garter tab. Increases are worked on each right side row to form a crescent shape. Garter stitch, eyelet rows and a lace section are worked until the final stitch count is reached and then the shawl is bound off.
