The Ferry Cottage Shawl is based on memories of my recent trip to Scotland. My husband and I stayed in a quaint Ferry Cottage near the Isle of Skye for the first leg of our journey. This shawl reminds me of waking to the lapping waters of the loch, our day trips exploring the Highlands, and visiting as many castles and distilleries as possible… My hope is that you will experience your own fond memories while knitting your Ferry Cottage Shawl!
This is a top-down triangle shaped shawl worked in a rustic sport weight yarn. It features a faux-cable spine between a subtle mirrored-twist over the main garment, and ends with a sophisticated wave cable border.
This shawl is a special collaboration with Marina Skua and uses four skeins of her beautiful Mendip 4-Ply 100% wool yarn.
This shawl is worked flat from the top down, beginning with a garter tab cast-on. A triangle shape is created by working increases on either side of the shawl. A main section and then a border is worked across the bottom of the shawl, then the shawl is bound off.
